About HangarFox
HangarFox is for UK general aviation pilots: somewhere to decide where to go, plan and brief the flight, and keep the logbook afterwards — with the people you fly with, and the passengers you carry.
What it does
- Where could you go? Aerodromes you can reach and get back from in the time you have, from your aircraft's own figures, with the weather on the map.
- Trips. A route with legs, times and fuel, weight and balance laid out like a loading sheet, and exports for the EFB you already use.
- Aerodromes. Runways, weather, a model sounding, and notes and reviews from other pilots.
- A logbook. Laid out like a paper one, with totals brought and carried forward, stats and a map of everywhere you've flown. Import from logbook.aero or a spreadsheet, or email a SkyDemon log in to draft an entry.
- Currency. Passenger-carrying currency and SEP revalidation tracked as you fly, with how far you've got rather than a pass or fail on the day.
- Sharing. One flight, in everyone's logbook: another pilot gets their own entry to accept, and a passenger gets a record to confirm.
What it isn't
HangarFox is a planning and record-keeping aid. It is not for navigation, and it is not a substitute for an official pre-flight briefing, the aircraft's own documents, or your own judgement.
Where it can't be sure, it says so rather than guess: a range with no cruise speed isn't drawn, a loading with no empty weight isn't worked out, NOTAMs it hasn't checked are shown as not checked, and a currency rule not yet confirmed against the CAA's own text is marked as such.
Your data
Your logbook is yours. Nobody can browse for other pilots — you add a contact by an email address you already have — and being connected lets you add each other to flights, not read each other's logbooks.
Trips are private unless you choose to show that you're flying in, and then only the day and half of the day, never a time. People you add to flights by name are visible to you alone.

Status
HangarFox is in beta and free while it is. Things will change, and some will break; the build you're using is in the footer, which helps if you report a problem.
